Margot fleece/jacket PDF & Paper Pattern

Margot was originally designed as a cosy fleece, an easy, throw-on jacket you’ll reach for again and again. It’s a relaxed, full-zip style with a drop shoulder and can be made with either a classic collar or a funnel neck. Two pocket options are included: patch pockets or a large kangaroo-style pocket.

During testing and sampling, it quickly became clear that Margot worked beautifully beyond fleece. The standard collar view translates particularly well into mid-weight woven fabrics such as lightweight denim, twill, or heavy linen. Because of this versatility, Margot has evolved into a jacket that transitions easily through the seasons.

While fleece is the fabric Margot was originally designed for, the pattern is surprisingly versatile and can also be made in a range of other fabrics. For the classic fleece version (the funnel neck and kangaroo collar view), stable knit fabrics of a medium to heavy weight with a low stretch percentage work best. Fleece, sweatshirting, bouclé, double knits, and ponte are all excellent choices. The standard collar view with patch pockets also works particularly well in mid-weight woven fabrics such as lightweight denim, twill, or heavy linen, creating more of a lightweight jacket style.

Sizes 4-12 - 1.5m / 1.7 yards
Sizes 14-18 - 1.9m / 2.1 yards
Sizes 16-22 - 2m / 2.2 yards
Sizes 24-32 - 2.5m / 2.7 yards

137cm width fabric:
Sizes 4-12 - 1.8m / 2 yards
Sizes 14-18 - 2m / 2.2 yards
Sizes 16-22 - 2.4m / 2.6 yards
Sizes 24-32 - 2.7m / 2.9 yards

You will also need:
- An open end zipper. See the notes below for required zipper lengths.
-Up to 50cm/0.6 yds of 2cm/3/4" wide elastic for the sleeve of the funnel neck fleece (if making).

Standard neck collar view:

Sizes 14-18 - 21" / 53cm

Sizes 24-32 - 23" / 58cm

Note: Most open end zippers can be shortened. If struggling with zipper length, you may find it easier to go bigger and reduce the length.

This pattern is available in UK sizes 4-32 and comes in two size sets (4-18 and 16-32). With the PDF pattern you will receive all sizes. With the printed pattern, you will need to choose your size bracket.
